How you can sponsor

Just from your own experience, education is of vital importance for development and children everywhere have a right to a basic education.

Education will revolutionize a child's whole life, bringing a permanent change to the child and their entire family.

Education will also begin to remove the curse of poverty from the country and the rest of Africa.

Children's rights should not have to depend on the economic capacity of their blood parents. The right to a good education is the most fundamental right of a child.

Health care, loving parents and other rights follow suit.

CadifKenya Child Sponsorship Programme

...our individual child sponsorship unites children in need with individual sponsors who wish to address the children's immediate and basic needs"...

Unfortunately due to poverty many children miss out on education. Parents are expected to provide everything from classroom construction to books and uniforms for their child, as well as maintenance of the school. Consequently many parents simply do not have the money to send their children to school. Many Kenyan families are subsistence farmers and for those lucky enough to have employment earn very little. One of the aims of Cadifkenya is to link sponsors with needy children to enable them to continue their education.

How much does it cost to sponsor a child

The sponsorship pays for uniform, shoes, other clothing, activity fund, books, stationery, medical fees and general needs for the child. Sponsorship costs for a primary school child is 20.00 GBP a month, 180 GBP per year Sponsorship for a secondary school child varies from 250-350 GBP per year. The amount depends on the individual school the child attends.

Additionally, many of the rural primary schools in Kenya are terribly poor, under resourced and under staffed. These schools have no electricity or water. The Kenyan government will pay the salary of a teacher but classes usually have about 80 or more pupils per teacher. We currently have over 50 children currently looking for sponsors.

As our sponsor, you will receive (monthly):
  • Academic progress report of the child you sponsor
  • The child's spiritual, socio-economical progress report

"The textbooks provided by the government are not enough for every child. They are shared between several children. This means not every child will carry a book home and so no homework can done. The only books provided by the government are the course books for English, Maths and Kiswahili. The guardian is expected to provide the rest and if they are unable to, the child will have to do without".

These facilities shown here are not enough for the whole year so the guardian has to buy more to cover for the whole year and some of them are not in a position to provide anything so CadifKenya does appreciate those sponsors who contribute towards food and if you wish know more about how you can help a family please do contact us and we will be happy to respond."

The current condition is no teacher has the right to send a child home whether the child has the above facilities or not. We have provided all the sponsored children with all the facilities required to enable her or him to do well at school. This is why we had so many of our children being the best in the National Exams.

Since have just started our educational sponsorship we trust in God to take many children to School and some of them being admitted to some of the best high schools in Kenya. We will always inform the sponsor which high school their sponsored child has been admitted to. The fee is high and only if the sponsor is willing to pay then the child is then admitted to that school. The Alternative is always for the child to go on to the local schools in the area, where they will still continue to perform well. This is due to having the child provided with all the requirements needed at school. You can also donate the above equipment to the child.
