PAMOJA ANTI-DRUG TRAFFICKING, ADDICTION AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE WALK -CAMPAIGN -28th JUly 2008
Preamble
We are Aware of the increasing gap between the Youth, community members ,their capability and the high rate of drug and substance abuse ,HIV/Aids infection, poverty and social crime within our community and concerned that our education system is not playing a major role in continued bridging of the aforementioned gap, perturbed that there are a number of young people who are ready to make a change but need a simple psychological help, they are on increased and convinced that it is possible to come up with intervention methods to enable these ambitious energetic young people to learn ,share and practically volunteer for their community by having their knowledge put to action. Persuaded that this positive and noble conviction(the walk) will enable large number of young people allover Kisumu, other part of the of the city to participate in mobilizing and to sensitize their fellow in respond to this initiative .We have been touched with such a conviction that as an organization of young people with diverse professions, Cadifkenya, Rotaract club of Kisumu and CRISSP , are humbly calling upon all stakeholders , civil society organization to join us in the walk by supporting youth volunteers, from schools, out of schools and the community in 5km walk followed by an open forum at Jomo kenyatta ground
WE have the power to make youths have future and success! Here is how you can help. I ask that you consider supporting us in cash or directly sponsoring the needed item as budged below. Supporting Us not only helps to make a change in our community, but is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate your support for the thousands of people in our community who are directly or indirectly affected and feel for the young ambitious youths. We highly invite you and your staffs for the walk and open Forum
2.0 OBJECTIVE OF THE WALK
1. To mobilize the business community, civil society, the Youths and the entire the community to articulatively address the challenges and the escalating drug and substance abuse in schools and in our community
2. 4. Assist the talented youths, children s and street youth exploit their talent through awareness On drug Addict, HIV/Aids, reduced social crime, Drug trafficking among other risk
3.To raise and strengthens the voice of the voiceless (youth) create impact on issues & concern of their lives
